                                Dynamic Mobility System

Standard KidWalk with Upper Body Unit & Headrest

The KidWalk is a new type of dynamic mobility system originally developed by an occupational therapist with practitioners, physicians, engineers and users to promote hands free mobility for exploration and weight shift during ambulation. The patented axle placement, swivel seat and large wheels encourage rotation of the upper body over the pelvis making it maneuvering over carpets and thresholds. It can be used during therapy to facilitate balance, equilibrium, weight shift and developmental activities such as reaching, jumping, carrying objects during ambulation.

Standard Configuration KidWalk: Recommended for users with upper body function/balance ie: diplegia, hemiplegia

OPTIONAL FEATURES

Upper Body Padded Unit: For users who need upper body support
ie: quadriplegia

Includes firmly padded height adjustable back, width and depth adjustable lateral pads, adjustable thoracic back pad and height and depth adjustable head pad.

Dynamic Upper Body Support For users with upper body function/balance
ie: diplegia, hemiplegia who have not experienced hands free ambulation

Includes adjustable flexible neoprene body wrap with Velcro closure with firm side support and dynamic forward movement.

Dynamic Leg Guides Recommended for users who posture into hip flexion to provide gentle range of motion and kinesthetic feedback for leg position.

The leg guides are wrapped just above the knees and stretched back to the vertical mast.

Tension adjustable neoprene wraps stretches around thighs & Velcros around vertical mast.

Optional Front Swivel Casters Replaces  anti-tips for omni-directional sideward stepping/cruising.

 Note: large wheels are removed, allowing maneuverability over hard smooth surfaces only. This configuration suggested for children 3 or under.

KidWalk with Optional Front Swivel Casters

Used for sidestepping/cruising for young children under three or for therapy training. Suggested use on hard flat surfaces only.

Optional Seats

Sizes available from short electric-stim seat for therapy to extra long seat depth that reduces maximum adduction or scissoring

Optional Headrests

Several sizes available with Universal adapter that will fit standard 1/2" tubing.

Optional Wheel Sizes and Types
